The Summer Fun Continues

Summer is still flying by with lots and lots of fun.

Rebecca, Anna and Andrew came down and we had fun at the Museum of Natural Curiousity at Thanksgiving Point.

We had a great time hiking up at Alta with Brynn and Emery.  We made it to Cecret Lake the long way, which ended up being about 4 miles roundtrip.  Little troopers!

 Nana came to visit for a week and we had a great time staying up at the Canyons with the Jones crew.

 We decided to go for more hiking with Brynn and Emery - this time up to the Bells Canyon Reservoir.  There were some skinned knees this time, but still lots of fun and a beautiful afternoon.

 Brynn and I went on our own trail adventure with a ten mile roundtrip run/hike up to White Pine Lake in Little Cottonwood Canyon.  It was absolutely beautiful up there.

 We had fun hanging out with the Larsens and the girls had a blast with their old buddy Olivia.

America's Birthday

Just like last year and the year before, we decided to celebrate the 4th of July up at Snowbird.  After spending the day riding the mountain coaster, alpine slide, and taking the tram to the top of Hidden Peak, we came home and had a great time across the street at the Domingo's house for a barbecue.  The whole group walked down to the end of the road when it was time for fireworks where we can see the entire valley.  We must have seen 12-15 firework shows going on at the same time.  It was awesome!

We get a family picture at the top of Hidden Peak every year.  We were excited that Steve and Bubba were able to come up and ride the tram to the top with us after my dad got off work.

The girls were in bed LATE.  This is the first year they have actually stayed awake for the fireworks.  They were exhausted, but it was such a great day.

Jones Family Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving this year with the Jones side at Jim and Rebecca's.  It has been a long time since we've all been together for Thanksgiving.  I don't even remember the last time.  We had great food, a relaxing day, and the kids had a blast playing together.  Instead of taking a bunch of pictures, I just relaxed.

Some highlights from our day:

• Not only was it Thanksgiving, it was our 15-year anniversary.  Brought back a lot of memories to 15 years ago when we spent Thanksgiving with Josh's grandparents, mom and Jessica at my grandma Cherie's house with the rest of my family.  
• The kids made some fun turkeys out of rice krispie treats.  Piper was pretty proud of hers.
• After 24 days without sugar on a "no sugar challenge", I dove right into the punkin pie.  Delicious.
• The girls are finally old enough to just "go play" with their cousins.  No longer do we have to stalk their every move. :)  

Sundance with the Jones crew

Last weekend we had a great time at Sundance with the Jones crew. Jer got us a great deal on a beautiful house up above the resort where we all stayed together for the weekend. 

The girls have a lot of fun playing with their cousins. They swam in that hot tub like it was a pool. On Friday we drove further up the canyon to check out Cascade Springs which were really pretty. It was great spending time together in a beautiful setting. Can't wait to do it again. 

Birthdays in July: EJ and Jer

We celebrated some big birthdays in our family in July.  Our sweet little Emery turned 1 and we had fun celebrating at Brynn and Nate's house.  As you can see below, the girls were not bummed to have to eat cupcakes at his party.

Later in the month, we pulled off a big surprise with a 40th birthday party for Jer at our house.  Erika, Josh and I schemed for a few weeks and were pretty shocked that it was actually a surprise when they walked in.  He thought they were dropping off their kids at our house so they could enjoy a night out, but instead he got a bunch of friends and family there to celebrate.

A Very Merry Christmas

 Just a few pics from our Christmas day . We had a wonderful Christmas, but were terrible about taking good pictures.  Our day included a relaxing morning at home opening presents and eating cinnamon pull aparts, then a fun afternoon at my parents having lunch, then finished with an evening at Jim and Rebecca's house with the Jones family.  The girls were loved and spoiled.
